Fireworx is the first game I created (about 4 years ago) - built using GameMaker 6 (although version 7 is now out). It simply uses the particle effects that are built into GameMaker, and it was surprisingly easy to make.
Fireworx allows you to create some virtual fireworks on your computer by pressing the different number keys. There are seven different colors of fireworks available. There is also a Click To Shoot mode in which you can click on the screen to basically create an explosion at the point of your mouse. For Click To Shoot and the regularmode, there is also an "Automatic" mini-mode. This allows you to shoot more than one firework at once while holding down the keys.
It's really a basic sort of "experimentation" project rather than a full-fledged game, but you can still probably have fun with it for a few minutes. ;-)

Download Fireworx at this link: Fireworx_1.0_Setup.exe, 3.86MB
(Yes I know it's an installer and I do know that's annoying, I just don't have time to upload the main executable or a ZIP file. I'll get around to it when I can.)
